Cars Were The Stars of Tennants Antique, Toy and Collectors Sale on Saturday 25 April with excellent prices achieved for the two “barn finds”, Citroen Big 12 (£1,600) and an Austin 7 (£3,800) and also for the large selection of model cars with investors pushing the price of Diecast and other models to levels not previously seen in the saleroom. Bidding was frantic in the saleroom, on the telephones and with 60 live internet bidders from around the globe. 
 
Highlights of the toy car section were £1,000 for a repainted J.E.P. (French toy maker) model of an open topped Rolls Royce Tourer; £1,000 for 25 boxed cars by Politoys; £1,300 for a collection of Spot-On Diecast vehicles; £1,600 for a collection of Dinky Toys and £900 for 26 Diecast vehicles by Mebetoys, Italy.
 
The 250 lot Toy and Collectors Sale realised £56,280 from the sale total of £158,000 with the top lot being a collection of 18th and 19th century playing cards making £3,200.
 
Tennants are continuing to attract new buyers to the saleroom and prices and demand for quality goods seem stronger than ever.
