A London Armoury Company Volunteer Pattern Three Band .577 Calibre Snider Rifle by James Kerr & Co., 54 King William Street, London, the 93cm steel barrel numbered 25 and stamped LAC, with hinged ladder rearsight, the lock plate stamped with crowned VR cypher, LAC and with maker's name, with chained snap cap, walnut full stock with brass fore-end tip, trigger guard and butt plate, the right side stamped with LAC/Kerr cartouche, the left side set with a silver plaque engraved "26 Middlesex RV 1st Prize A Comp'y, Won by Lieut.Hancock, Prize Meeting 1874", with steel ramrod and sling swivels
