A George V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, the 82.5cm double edge fullered steel blade crisply etched with royal cypher, coat of arms and foliate strapwork by Hawksworth, Sheffield, the silver plated hilt pierced and engraved with royal cypheer, with wire bound fish skin grip and baluster pommel, lacks scabbard; another George V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, with unsigned blade, lacks scabbard (2)

Guide Price: £200-300

The blade has a slight bend to the ricasso end and there are a number of nicks to edge with some black patching. The hilt has nicks and dents, there is a solder repair near the sword knot slit, the grip has a later leather binding.
