A Georgian "Five Ball Spadroon" Type Naval Officer's Sword, the 71cm slightly curved single edge steel blade with a broad and a narrow fuller to each side, the gilt brass hilt with five ball counter guard, stirrup knuckle bow and square cushion pommel, the fluted marine ivory grip set with an eliptical brass panel engraved "M.L.R. Jnr.A.", (the knuckle bow may have been replaced, lacks scabbard)

The blade is covered with dark spots of pitting, the gilding is worn on the hilt, the knuckle bow may be a replacement, lacks scabbard.
