Ernest Allen served on the coastal command in the 59th Squadron for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), in conjunction with the Royal Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in post war years.

Eatons were sole agents for Rolex in Canada. Solar watches are their household brand. Some of the solar watches were made by Rolex, such as the Solar Aqua oyster watch.
