A Rare Early 20th Century Fraternity Cap to the Heidelberg University Schlager (Duelling) Brotherhood, the bright apple green wool top embroidered in gilt metal thread with the monogram JGv!, within a silver metal thread piped border, and with cream and red banded sides, the lining printed with maker's name and inscribed with original student's name Klaus H Goebel, together with a photocopy of an article in the Strand Magazine January 1897 to June 1897 entitled "Duelling in German Universities.
**The colours of this cap would also have lined the guard of the Schlager sword. A photograph of one bearing these colours is shown in the "Gazette Des Armes" Journal No.362, page 31
