Lieutenant Commander John Michael Cranmer R.N.V.R.
A Collection of Militaria and Ephemera,
including a group of four Second World War Medals, comprising 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star with clasp NORTH AFRICA 1942-43 and War Medal (MID), together with the miniatures including Defence Medal (MID) and Dunkerque Medal (with framed citation), certificates, letters of recommendation, letters to and from home, photographs and reports, (including a report on the Demolition of the Fortifications on Heligoland together with a rock carved as a souvenir) buttons, silver cigarette case and vesta case, a leather riding crop, fly whisk, cosh, two pairs of goggles etc.
**Lieutenant John Michael Cranmer R.N.V.R. (Elect.) was a member of the Land Incident Section formed in 1940, which rendered safe and disposed of enemy mines both in London and at sea, and he was also involved in the Demolition of the Fortifications on Heligoland (Operation Big Bang).
