A Second World War "Britain's Salute the Soldiers Effort" Scrapbook Collated by Miss Margaret M Thomson, Poet, and containing signed letters of thanks and appreciation for her works entitled "Victory Poems" which she sold to raise money for the war effort. Letters of thanks included signed examples from Dwight Eisenhower Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force and Lieutenant J H Doolittle, Commander of the USA 8th Air Force.**Miss Thomson raised the sum of £56 5/-, which she handed over to the Chancellor as a gift, by making a door to door canvas in her home town of Castle Douglas and by sending her poems to distinguished people in Britain and the Allied countries.
