A Porcelain Snuff Bottle as a Squirrel, probably circa 1820, modelled as a squirrel crouching on a grape vine, upon a leaf, in naturalistic enamel colours, 8.4cm high

A common decorative theme in Chinese art are squirrels accompanied by grapes. Squirrels are especially fond of sweet juicy grapes and feed on them continuously. Their action is described in Chinese as "taste one more time". A homophonic interpretation could also be "promote to the top rank at the Imperial Court".
