A Very Interesting Collection of RAF Medals and Ephemera Relating to Sergeant (Later Squadron Leader) R.A.R. Falconer Who Performed Important and Vital Work in Photographing over 1000 Square Miles of Enemy Territory in the early 1930's, comprising:- An Extemely Rare RAF Gallantry Group of Eight Medals, awarded to 363944.SGT.R.A.R. FALCONER. R.A.F., comprising OBE, Distinguished Flying Medal (rare as being awarded in peacetime), India General Service Medal 1908-1935 with clasp NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1930-31, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, and Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, together with seven Log Books dating from 1928 to 1950 and a Pilots Notes General Book, photocopies of photographs of the pilot and his aircraft, and a quantity of related cap badges, cloth insignia, buttons, a cased silver gilt and enamelled Army Rifle Association Methuan Cup Medal and eighteen RAF Small Arms Association and other shooting medallions.**Squadron Leader Falconer taught night flying, landing and take-off to Guy Gibson (a Dambuster Raid pilot). Guy Gibson is recorded several times in the log books as being the second pilot.
