A German Brass Bell from the U Boat "U57", with clapper and ropes, the body punched and black enamelled U57, 31cm high to suspension ring, 26.5cm diameter.
** This bell was purchased in Scarborough. There were two German U57 U boats, one was launched 29th April 1916, the other was launched 3rd September 1938 and commissioned into the Kriegsmarine on 29th December 1938. It is believed that this bell is from the second boat.

A German Third Reich Flag, with a central circular panel containing a swastika, on a black Maltese cross and red field, the black hoist hem printed Ges.gesch. to one corner, 125cm by 128cm (This flag was surrendered at the end of the German Occupation of Guernsey in 1945); a Maltese Flag, the white hoist set with the George Cross; a German Cotton Banner, the cream ground printed with an aerial view of the French Air Force, the top edge printed "So sieht eine Franzosische Luftdivision aus".
