A First World War Pair, awarded to CAPT.J.H.MEDCALF R.F.C., comprising British War Medal and Victory Medal - possibly renamed, together with his brass cigarette lighter, RFC button, flying wings insignia, Royal Air Force Flying Training instruction book and related newspaper cuttings.
**Flying Officer James Victor Medcalf of the Royal Air Force Reserve was killed in the Sir John Carling whilst attempting to be the first to fly across the Atlantic from London to Ontario in September 1927.
