An Indonesian Hardwood Paddle, with flat narrow blade, cylindrical haft, the boat shaped pommel inscribed in ink "Carang Carang Pirates, 11th May 1872, Nassau", 137cm long, blade width 8cm.**Collected by Captain William Chimmo of HMS Nassau on his trip to the Sulu Archipelago circa 1872. HMS Nassau encountered the Sulee Pirates and was responsible for the fall of Carang in 1872.
