A Late 18th Century Japanese Suit of Armour (Gusoku), the black hardened leather cuirass (Do), with cream and green embroidered silk and cord shoulder straps, hung with seven section kusazuri, each section of five black lacquered metal lames, the arm protectors (Kote) and greaves (Suneate) of metal lames and chain mail backed by blue silk brocade, each shoulder protector (Sode) of six black lacquered metal lames, the thigh protectors (Haidate) of apron form, made up of overlapping lacquer panels backed by blue and cream silk brocade, one leg with signed panel, together with an Akoda Kabuto, the skull of seventeen overlapping metal plates, the brown lacquered metal Mempo with bristle moustache and open mouth

A 19th Century Suit of Japanese Ashigaru Armour, the gold lacquered hardened leather cuirass (Do) of mock panelled form with pin hinged side plates and shaped back plate, the front hung with three sections of black laced gold and brown lacquered five tier lames (Kusazuri), the neck-line set with a pale blue and gold embroidered and quilted stand-up collar, together with a Black and Red Lacquer Jingasa, of shallow conical form, a padded cushion to the crown with side loops, all mounted on a wood display stand.

A Japanese Wakizashi, the 32.5cm steel blade with brass one piece habaki, the tang signed on one side, the tang tip is broken off through the secondary mekugi-ana, the scabbard, tsuba and grip is of bone or deer antler and well carved with deities, Samurai warriors, dragons and cloud bands. (the seppa, one hanging ring and band missing).
