A 19th Century Naval Officer's Black Silk Bicorn Hat, Epaulettes and Sword Belt by Gieves Ltd., the hat edges bound in black silk woven with acorns and oak leaves, with ribbon cockade backing a twisted gold bullion loop secured by a gilt button, each end set with a gold bullion tassel, with silk lining; the gold lace epaulettes of 1812 pattern, each set with a silver rank star and a silver fouled anchor, with twenty two gold bullions, blue silk and morocco lining; the sword belt of leather backed woven black cloth with gold lace trim and gilt fouled anchor clasp, all contained in a black japanned tin fitted case.

A Victorian Part Full Dress and Undress Uniform to an Officer of the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry, comprising a black leather helmet with white horse hair plume, gilt metal acanthus leaf plume holder and pommel, helmet plate (lacks chin strap and ear rosettes, in a black japanned helmet tin; a red tunic with blue cloth facings and shaped lapels, bullion lace and rose to the stand-up collar, and lace trimmed cuffs, with brass buttons; a silver bullion lace trimmed blue morroco shoulder belt with silver pouch, buckle, slide, chains and pickers, hallmarks for London 1855; a blue morocco sabretache, with gold bullion lace trim and applique, waist belt with rose cast clasp and sword sling, in a japanned tin case; a pair of brass spurs, by Maxwell, London; a black forage cap, with gilt bullion lace trim; a black single breasted frock coat, with stand-up collar and six loops of black braiding, each loop having two olivets; white leather shoulder and waist belt, with sword sling and gilt metal fittings; a pair of steel spurs, by Maxwell of London, together with a small green tin trunk.

M.P., comprising a red double breasted swallow-tail coat with black velvet stand-up collar and cuffs embroidered with acorns and oak leaves in silver bullion thread, silver plaited epaulettes and brushes, black mourning armbands, black silk bicorn hat with red and white feather plume, black trousers with silver lace side stripes, and white kid gloves, all contained in a black japanned fitted trunk with gilt lettering.** Francis Sharp Powell became Member of Parliament for Wigan in 1857 and celebrated his baronetcy in 1892.
