Naval Group of Six Medals and Part Uniform, to (Portsmouth) JX 142695 Commander Thomas William Lancaster, comprising Distinguished Service Cross, the reverse dated 1943 and with hallmarks for London 1942, 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star with NORTH AFRICA 1942-43 clasp, Pacific Star and War Medal, court mounted, together with a bosun's whistle, his tunic with brass buttons, medal ribbon bars, gilt lace rank insignia to shoulder straps and cuffs, waist belt and sword slings with gilt buckle and mounts, a peaked cap, additional cap band and bullion insignia, a leather sword knot, a brass and leather single draw telescope engraved with his name by Gieves Ltd., and an official Naval Service History.
**Thomas William Lancaster received his D.S.C. for successful patrols in H.M. submarines, which was recorded in the London Gazette 18th May 1943

Note: These medals relate to the action of saving seven lives on the loss of the M.V.Bowqueen, a sand dredger, which struck a sandbank off Walton on Naze on 8th. September 1965.

The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners Royal Benevolent Society Medal must be amongst the last awarded since it was discontinued in 1965.
