Clocks, Watches and Barometers

Tennants horology department includes clocks, watches and barometers in the three important Fine Art Sales, as well as the busy weekly Antique and Home Furnishing Sales. It is always on the look-out for good examples of bracket, mantel, longcase, novelty and carriage clocks and goes from strength to strength, having achieved exceptional prices for makers such as George Graham, Jospeh Knibb, Christopher Gould, Kullberg, Thomas Cole and Windmills amongst others. Regular appraisal days are held at Leyburn, as well as specialist valuation days at the offices in Harrogate and Oakham, and the department is happy to advise both buyers and sellers regarding sale or written valuation.

Adam Wasdell (MBHI, Wostep)

After becoming a Graduate of the British Horological Institute, Adam went on to be the youngest candidate to pass the highly technical Wostep course (Watches of Switzerland Educational Programme). He is a member of the British Watch & Clock Maker’s Guild.

Adam started his career with Christie's in South Kensington and King Street in London. This involved him cataloguing and valuing international sales, as well as attending view days and major auctions in Geneva and Amsterdam.

Since joining Tennants, Adam has expanded the Horology department and continues to value major collections for sale and insurance.
