Stamps & Postal History

Next Specialist Sale: Wednesday 12 June

Stamp and postal history collecting continues to attract an enthusiastic worldwide following, while in recent times both individuals and companies have increasingly viewed these specialist items as a form of 'safe' investment.  As a result, Tennants’ sales are very well attended with good hammer prices achieved.

We sell world accumulations, single country or themed lots, single stamps and sets and specialised collections that can include errors and varieties. Accessories and associated reference works are also popular with buyers.

British and overseas postal history memorabilia also sells extremely well, from pre-stamp (prior to the invention of stamps in 1840) to modern times, along with first day covers, commemorative covers and similar items.

Our in-house expert, Jane Wiltshire, will be pleased to advise you on the sale or purchase of stamps and is more than happy to make confidential visits to your home for the appraisal and valuation of bulkier or larger consignments.
