Favourite lot ever sold & why: There have been several, but one in particular was a superb manuscript written by E B Mounsey on Bewick and his works. The author was a member of the Pease dynasty and the manuscript, which was bound in gilt tooled Morocco, came from the family library which we sold in 2008.

Career highlight at Tennants/memorable occasion: Selling a library of Irish books in 2007 when we achieved several world record prices. A number of buyers arrived from Ireland, one landing in a helicopter in our field which caused huge excitement

Important or exciting collections sold through you and why you've enjoyed it: The Douglas Grant Library of English Literature, which we sold in 2009, was described by the Antiques Trade Gazette as one of the most exciting provincial sales of recent times. The collection, untouched since the 1960's, was completely fresh to the market and attracted worldwide interest.
