18th Century Embroidered and Quilted Bed Cover, worked on two fabrics which alternate in stripes, three sides finished in scallops, the last side straight, decoratively embroidered with carnations, other flowers and foliage in silk and metal threads, on a regular quilted design, the backing is pieced from various fabrics, mainly linens, 160cm by 200cm

Condition Report:
The background fabric is very well worn in many places, the silk embroidery is generally sound however the metal threads are detached or indeed missing. The rear of the quilt is badly worn and stained.
