Late 19th Century Ivorine Fan, in the 18th century style, with pierced and carved sticks, showing a Chinoserie style group of two young women seated beneath pagodas, and flautist's and floral motifs carved to the guards, paper leaf is hand painted to both sides with figures in 18th century costume eating in a woodland, and an amorous couple to the reverse seated by a river, 29cm, in a fabric mounted card fan box labelled 'Coup Palais-Royal'
Some staining to the sticks and wear to the guards. Wear along the folds of the mount, couple of rips and tears to each side (near the guards), one possibly been repaired. Staining to the reverse of mount, along the folds. Sticks and guards are not bone or ivory, we believe them to be an ivorine
