Directions

From the A1:

Leave at junction 51 and take the A684 towards Leyburn. The Auction Centre is the first building on the right hand side as you enter Leyburn.

From the M6:

Leave at junction 37 and take the A684 through Sedburgh and  Hawes towards Leyburn. At the mini roundabout in Leyburn turn right towards Bedale. The Auction Centre is the last building on the left hand side as you leave Leyburn.

By rail

The nearest railway stations are Darlington and Northallerton, with trains running regularly from London King's Cross and Edinburgh.

By air

The nearest international airports are Durham Tees Valley, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle.

Our head office and salerooms are located on the edge of the picturesque market town of Leyburn, in the Northern Yorkshire Dales.

First opened in 1993, the Auction Centre was doubled in size in 2014 with the opening of The Garden Rooms at Tennants, a 40,000sq. ft. arts and events centre which provides an impressive backdrop to our Fine Art Sales as well as housing our permanent display galleries, events, exhibitions, gift shop and café and restaurant.

Valuations

The Leyburn salerooms are open for free auction valuation every week day. Please see our Valuations page for full details. There is extensive free parking, and a covered loading bay for the delivery of large items.

Café & Restaurant

The Garden Rooms Restaurant and Café are open seven days a week, offering a range of fresh, seasonal eating options from fine dining to coffee and cake to fortify you on sale days.

From A61 (Leeds)

Follow signs for Harrogate town centre, take the A61 West Park Stray,
keep left (one way system), take 2nd left turn onto Montpellier Hill to the Crown roundabout,
we are situated on the corner facing the roundabout with the Crown Hotel to the left.

From A59 (Skipton)

Follow the signs for Harrogate. At the roundabout turn right onto the Ripon Road A61.
At the traffic lights (Harrogate Conference Centre on the left) turn right onto Crescent Road,
then 1st left onto Montpellier Road to the Crown roundabout,
we are situated on the left facing the roundabout.

From the A1, A661 (Wetherby)

Follow the signs for Harrogate, then take the A6040 along York Place,
at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto West Park A61, keep left.
Take the 2nd left turn onto Montpellier Hill to the Crown roundabout:
we are on the corner facing the roundabout with the Crown Hotel on the left.

The Harrogate Office was established over 25 years ago, located in the spa town’s historic Montpellier Quarter.

The office is open every Monday between 10am and 4pm for free auction valuations of general antiques and collectables, currently available by appointment only.

The Harrogate office also hosts regular Specialist Valuations Days with our valuers. These Valuation Days are by appointment, which can be booked by contacting the team at Harrogate.

Delivery and Collections at Harrogate

A drop-off and transport service is offered for smaller items for sale or valuation at the Leyburn salerooms.  By prior arrangement, you can leave your items in the Harrogate office during their opening hours and they will be delivered to Leyburn free of charge.

Similarly, smaller items that have been purchased at auction in the Leyburn salerooms can be collected from our Harrogate Office during their opening hours by prior arrangement.

St James's Square is conveniently located between Piccadilly and Pall Mall, and is only a few minutes' walk from underground stations at Green Park, Piccadilly and Charing Cross. 

Tennants’ base in the South of England is located amongst the galleries of St James’s, in the heart of the London art world.

For clients in London and the South East, valuations can be arranged in our St James’s office by prior appointment, or a home visit from one of our senior valuations team can be scheduled.
