Our state of the art display galleries are housed in The Garden Rooms, a purpose built extension to The Auction Centre that opened in 2014. The Garden Rooms incorporates a multi-purpose events venue and auction space that is also used for concerts, weddings and private functions. The galleries allow us to showcase your items and collections ahead of sale and to promote the many fascinating, rare and beautiful objects we are privileged to handle.
Set over two floors, we have nine museum quality display cabinets and a large dedicated gallery space. The cabinets and gallery space are curated by specialists who carefully create interesting displays that help to maximise the interest in forthcoming sales.
We also work with a wide variety of educational and cultural bodies including schools, museums and universities. Alongside private collections and items for sale, The Garden Rooms has displayed items loaned from museums such as The Bowes Museum, Beamish and The Quilters’ Guild, and staged exhibitions of the work of Norman Cornish and Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson.
We undertake dedicated marketing campaigns which maximises awareness and engagement amongst a relevant targeted audience and The Auction Centre and The Garden Rooms now attract more than 200,000 visitors each year.
The exhibitions and galleries are open to the public free of charge seven days a week.
We offer this service to our clients at no additional charge. Please discuss this with one of our specialists when you are consigning items for sale and they will advise how best to progress.
