Tennants Auctioneers is delighted to announce that they are expanding their services to include a greater presence in the North West.
The Spring Fine Art Sale at Tennants Auctioneers on Saturday 9th April 2016 offered 165 lots across a range of periods, from 17th century oils and 19th century renditions, through to modern and contemporary etchings, linocuts and screen-prints. This attempt to include a comprehensive range of carefully selected lots to represent a range of tastes and historical styles is a direct response to a market which remains eclectic, but certainly shows certain themes and strengths.
With our affection for period dramas and series’ such as Downton Abbey, it seems our appetite for jewellery of decades past has been wetted and the opportunity to purchase pieces from those eras is prevalent at auction. 
Tennants are delighted to be offering the residual contents of the Durham County Club, as part of the Country House Sale on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May 2016.
Included in the Vintage Costume, Textiles, Dolls & Teddy Bears Auction at Tennants on Friday 29th April, are two unique and rare items of 18th century costume.
Tennants Auctioneers are delighted to be selling by auction a large carved oak overmantel panel which has previously been referenced in Anthony Wells-Cole’s book Art and Decoration in Elizabethan and Jacobean England, as 'whereabouts officially unknown'.

John Benjamin comes to Tennants

Tennants are delighted to announce a special date for your diary.  On Tuesday 24th May 2016, BBC Antiques Roadshow expert, lecturer, writer and broadcaster, John Benjamin will be at Tennants giving an exciting talk on Jewellery.

We are delighted to announce we will be opening The Garden Rooms’ Restaurant for traditional Sunday lunches, starting from Easter Sunday, 27th March 2016.
The Modern & Contemporary Art Sale on Saturday 27th February comprised of affordable paintings, drawings and prints, with an emphasis on Modern British and Northern Artists.  Out of the 227 lots to go under the hammer 90% sold on the day, 56 of which sold to online bidders and led to overall prices exceeding the estimate significantly.
Included in our forthcoming sale of Vintage Costume, Textiles, Dolls & Teddy Bears on Friday 29th April, is a pair of unworn black, Suffragette stockings.
