The Collections of the late Stanley J. Seeger – The Final Instalment
Tennants have the great pleasure of auctioning The Boston of Faversham Collection of Queen Victoria Memorabilia, as part of the Country House Sale on Saturday 25 April 2015.
Following a record three days of viewing between Christmas and the New Year, was the January Country House sale, on Saturday 3rd.   The 1200 lot sale ran alongside a smaller 200 lot Sporting Sale, which offered a select collection of fishing rods, tackle and other sporting memorabilia. The two sales combined a hammer total over £380,000, a record start to the year at Tennants.
The inaugural Fine Art Sale held in The Garden Rooms this autumn marked the beginning of a new era at Tennants. The new space provided an impressive backdrop for the two day sale, and contributed to the fact that over 50% of the lots were bought in the room.
Tennants has made a major financial investment in the business and doubled the size of the work and public space to an impressive 80,000sq foot. The new centre, behind and beside the current Auction House, has been named The Garden Rooms, reflecting the outward looking nature of the design, and highlighting the fact that one of the cornerstones of this development is to be the creation of a Sensory Garden in 2015. The project has been in planning for a number of years but has been completed in just eighteen months.

A giant installation created using more than 40 gallons of oils will be the centrepiece of the major exhibition ‘Pushing Paint’, which marks the launch of visiting artists to The Garden Rooms at Tennants.
Tennants Auctioneers have been instructed to sell the remaining contents of an outstanding North Yorkshire business dating from the 19th century.  Robson and Cooper have finally closed its doors after trading for over 170 years, from its historic Georgian listed building Fitzwilliam House, Lendal, York.
