Tennants is one of the UK’s leading Specialist Auctioneers and a fourth-generation family business. With 27 Specialist departments and an international reach, Tennants holds more than 85 auctions each year and connects buyers and sellers in more than 75 countries.
To support plans for further growth, Tennants now requires an additional experienced General Valuer and Auctioneer to be responsible for overseeing the curation of its popular Antiques and Interiors Sales held every fortnight. In addition to valuing and cataloguing, the role includes auctioneering across the many different specialist auctions which make up this dynamic and successful business.
You will need at least five years’ general valuing and auctioneering experience and be able to work to very tight deadlines.
In addition to a generous benefits package, you will be working with a great team of professionals in state-of-the-art salerooms which are also a major local visitor destination in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

This is a deadline driven environment where you will be required to work quickly and carefully under pressure, often handling high value items. You must also be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and be capable of safely lifting large items of furniture. You must enjoy working with the public and be able to communicate at all levels.
