Stamps and Postal History Specialist Valuer and Cataloguer
Tennants Auctioneers is the UK’s leading Specialist Auctioneers and a fourth generation family business. With 27 Specialist departments and an international reach, from its Salerooms in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, Tennants holds more than 85 auctions each year across all major disciplines and connects more than 40,000 buyers and sellers in more than 75 countries each year.
Tennants now requires an experienced Specialist to lead it’s Stamps and Postal History Department; valuing and cataloguing items consigned for auction and overseeing the curation of three sales each year. Many vendors choose to sell with Tennants due to its ability to offer a team of specialists across all disciplines, and the recruitment of a Stamps Specialist is an important role within the business.
The hours of work are negotiable but would require a minimum of two days a week. Self-employed candidates would be considered although an employment arrangement would be preferred. Salary is negotiable according to experience.
To be successful, you will need to have demonstrable experience in cataloguing and valuing stamps for auction, insurance and probate requirements. You will also need to be confident and personable and enjoy working with the public in a fast-paced environment.
