Tennants’ sale of Jewellery, Watches & Silver on 8th April showed strong results for jewellery all round, with the demand for antique and period pieces remaining true. However, it was items of Jade jewellery that really stood apart - with period pieces far exceeding their estimates. Good quality jade is always in demand, with the Chinese market particularly interested in Art Deco pieces. 
Tennants’ sale of Books, Maps, Prints and Manuscripts on the 28th April is set to include Part I of a collection comprising over 150 original illustrations made for Ladybird books by artist and illustrator John Berry (1920-2009). A window into a vanished world, these nostalgia- filled pictures present the optimistic ideals of the 1960s and 1970s.
Tennants’ sale of Toys, Models, Collectables & Sporting Items on 5th April resulted in a good range of high prices across the diverse sections of the sale. In particular, fishing paraphernalia performed consistently well throughout, and Matchbox and Dinky toys achieved good, strong prices. 
Tennants’ sale of Fine Wine and Whisky on 22nd April offers the chance to own one of the most renowned vintages of Bordeaux of recent times, when two cases of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1990 come up for auction.
A fine collection of coins, stored for several years in a box in a North Yorkshire garage, are to go under the hammer at Tennants Auctioneers on 12th April.

Tennants’ sales of Vintage Motorvehicles and Automobilia always draw in crowds of motoring enthusiasts, and the sale on Saturday 25th March was no exception. With the lots on offer ranging from highly collectable enamel advertising signs to vintage Rolls-Royces, the sale appealed to a wide spectrum of buyers. 
Tennants’ Spring Fine Art Sale on 24th and 25th March showed good all-round results, with each department contributing to a buoyant sale in which traditional art and antiques proved equally in demand as modern and contemporary art. A busy saleroom, over 1200 bidders registered online, and telephone lines at capacity led to a total hammer price of £1,460,950, with 85.5% of the lots sold. Managing Director Jeremy Pattison said of the sale ‘There was a real buzz in the saleroom over the two days, with consistently strong prices being achieved throughout’.
A private collection of Railway Memorabilia is coming up for auction in Tennants’ sale of Toys, Models and Collectables on 5th April. The collection focusses on North Eastern railways in the years preceding the 1921 Railways Act, when the myriad independent railway companies were amalgamated into four national companies. 
A significant private collection – The Property of a Gentleman - is at the heart of an exciting assemblage of Modern British and Irish Paintings and Sculpture on offer in Tennants Spring Fine Art sale on 24th & 25th March.  With the likes of Graham Sutherland, William Gear, Markey Robinson and Michael Ayrton on offer, the sale brings an important representation of Modern British & Irish Art to North Yorkshire.
