A piece of Bradford’s sporting history is to be offered for auction in Tennants Auctioneers’ Summer Fine Art Sale on 15 July in their Leyburn salerooms. The Victorian silver ewer was presented to Harry Wharfedale Tennant Garnett by the Bradford Football Club on the 24 November 1880. The ewer has been passed down through the family of Harry Garnett, and has never been seen on the market before. 
Renowned Scarborough educational institution to find new homes for their collection of ‘Mouseman’ and Acorn Industries Yorkshire Oak Furniture.

A large collection of Yorkshire oak furniture by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson and Acorn Industries from the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus, commissioned by North Riding College between 1948 and 1970, will be sold in Tennants Auctioneers’ Summer Fine Art Sale on 15 July 2017.

Bidders from around the globe were attracted to Tennants’ auction of Scientific and Musical Instruments, Cameras and Tools on 7th June with its mix of good quality period musical instruments and a diverse range of scientific lots encompassing macabre curiosities and collectors’ items. 
Memories of the Golden Age of seaside holidays will be stirred, when a Private Collection of Original Illustrations for saucy seaside postcards come up for auction at Tennants Auctioneers on 21st June. Over 80 illustrations will be sold in group lots, with estimates ranging from £300-500 to £700-1000. 
Tennants Auctioneers’ sale of Scientific & Musical Instruments on 7th June includes two very different, but none the less intriguing items - a Genoese violin by Agostino de Plani, dated 1778, and a drum kit that belonged to Don Powell, drummer with legendary band Slade. 
Two new world records were set at Tennants’ auction of Modern and Contemporary Art on 26th May for works by Cecil Rochfort D’Oyly John and John Ridgewell. 
The selected contents of Dale End Mill, Lothersdale, are to be offered at auction on the 26th May at Tennants Auctioneers, Leyburn. 
A fine example of a 19th century North American Walrus skull was the stand-out lot in Tennants’ sale of Natural History and Taxidermy on 17th May. In the days leading up to the sale, there had been much interest in the skull, but competitive bidding from multiple buyers in the room, on the phone and online drove the price well above the £800-1,200 estimate to reach £3,200.
