The department has the knowledge and expertise to handle a wide range of rugs and carpets, from fine antique Middle Eastern carpets to good furnishing rugs to complement any interior. The department also handles European weavings, particularly Arts and Crafts carpets from the early 20th century. Our specialist consultant can offer expert advice on the techniques and design of rugs as well as guiding you through buying and selling rugs at auction and providing up to date market valuations.
Rugs and carpets are sold throughout the auction calendar, with fine antique examples and tapestries from the 16th century onwards being sold in the Fine Sales. Good period rugs for the home appear in the Country House Sales and further examples of period and modern rugs are sold in the fortnightly Antiques and Interiors Sales.
We are now inviting entries for our forthcoming sales. If you have items you would like to consign, please request a free valuation using the link below.
