This selling exhibition will celebrate his work as a print-maker, featuring over 250 prints. Browne’s work took him from Ireland to Iceland as well as Morocco, Greece and the South of France. The prints in the exhibition include a wide selection of Yorkshire views, works inspired by his travels, and prints made for his published books.
Throughout his long and illustrious career, Browne exhibited at over 75 one-man shows, and regularly had work accepted into the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition. In addition, he produced a body of illustrated literary work including an edition of A.E. Housman’s ‘A Shropshire Lad’, and ‘The Glorious Trees of Britain’, which drew praise from the likes of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Melvyn Bragg.
The exhibition will be followed by the sale of a selection of oil paintings in the Modern & Contemporary Art Sale on 4th October.
