A Rare 1932 Lagonda

11th October 2021.

A rare 1932 Lagonda 3 Litre Sports Tourer (estimate: £100,000-150,000 plus buyer’s premium) is coming up for auction in the Motor Car, Motorcycle and Automobilia Sale at Tennants Auctioneers in North Yorkshire on 16th October.

Lagonda was one of the most prestigious marques of the late 1920s; their cars regularly won at Le Mans, and the 3 Litre version is often praised by enthusiasts as being one of the finest Lagondas commercially produced. This example is in fine mechanical form and finished to a very high standard. Very rarely does a car such as this become available on the open market.

The car, which is painted in British racing green, was once owned by renowned vehicle restorer David A.C. Royle of County Durham and is sold with his handwritten record of all the work he undertook on the car between 1969 and 1971.

Further desirable classic vehicles in the sale include a 1936 Citroen Light 15 Roadster (estimate: £50,000-70,000 plus buyer’s premium) that featured in a 1970s Citroen television advert, a 1974 Jaguar E Type V12 (estimate: £45,000-55,000 plus buyer’s premium) and a 1923 Calthorpe 2 Stroke 250cc motorbike (estimate: £11,000-12,000 plus buyer’s premium), plus a whole array of vintage and collectable Automobilia.
