An interesting array of lots is set to come under the hammer in the 14th May Scientific and Musical Instruments, Cameras and Tools Sale at Tennant Auctioneers, including several good private collections. Highlights of the musical section of the sale feature two good anniversary edition electric guitars. Firstly, a Fender 40th Anniversary Stratocaster Concert Edition Electric Guitar is offered with an estimate of £3,000-4,000 (all figures exclude buyer’s premium), and secondly, a Gibson Les Paul Standard 100th Anniversary Model is offered with an estimate of £800-1,200. Amongst the rest of the section is a good Violin, which is stamped ‘Turner London’ and sold together with a bow (estimate: £3,000-4,000), an English System Concertina, by ‘C Wheatstone Inventor, 20 Conduit St, Regent St, London’ (estimate: £400-600) and a good selection of banjos.

There is a strong selection of Cameras in the sale too, including a large private collection, the rest of which will be sold in subsequent sales. In this sale, highlights from the collection on offer will include a Hasselblad 500C/M Camera with Carl Zeiss T* Sonnar f4 150mm lens, prism view, film backs and flash units (estimate: £400-600). From another private collection comes a good Hasselblad CFV-50C Digital Camera Back (estimate: £1,000-1,500), a Leica M11 Camera Body (estimate: £2,000-3,000), and a Leica E29 Summicron-M f2 35mm Asph Lens (estimate: £800-1,200).
Amongst the more unusual lots in the sale are a selection of ham radio transceivers and equipment, including two Icom transceivers on offer with estimates of £200-300 each, and a good selection of vintage Bakelite telephones.
