Tennants Auctioneers’ The Designer Sale – A Timed Auction starting on the 28^th October and running until the 11^th November features an impressive array of luxury accessories and designer fashion from the most desirable labels.

Estimated at £1,500-2,000 (all figures excluding buyer’s premium) is a Christian Dior black leather quilted ‘Lady Dior’ handbag with its authentication card and dust bag. Dior was founded in Paris by Christian Dior in 1946. In 1947, Dior’s “New Look”, an outfit which favoured rounded shoulders, a cinched waist, and a full A-line skirt awoke the world from a post-war slump and with it bringing an age of radical feminism in fashion and greater attention to harmonising fabric and cut in dresses. Dior became a leader in luxury fashion and accessories. Dior’s attention to detail and elegant design can also be found in this handbag that is up for sale. The likes of Princess Margaret, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth all wore Dior’s designs elevating the fashion house’s popularity.

A pendant on chain by Italian luxury fashion house Fendi is also up for sale at an estimate of £1,000-1,500, and a modern Prada green crocodile, snakeskin and suede patched shoulder bag is estimated at £700-900.

Also in the Designer Sale, an array of Chanel luxury accessories are going under the hammer, including a 2010 Chanel brown quilted leather shoulder bag (estimate: £1,200-1,500), a Chanel black lambskin clutch bag (estimate: £300-500), a Chanel faux pearl and chain link charm necklace ‘made in Italy’ (estimate: £500-700), and a Chanel chain link belt (estimate: £150-200). With a focus on elegant style over trends, Chanel is a powerhouse designer with an impressive portfolio of stylish accessories synonymous with opulence.
