The residual contents of The Clock and Watch Workshop of Robert Loomes is to be auctioned in the Antiques and Interiors Sale at Tennants Auctioneers, North Yorkshire on the 4th July due to Loomes' to early retirement.
Robert Loomes, son of the renowned Brian Loomes, ran a Stamford-based clock and watch repair and restoration business for over thirty years. The workshop also manufactured entirely British made watches. Robert has held directorships of the British Horological Institute (BHI) and the British Watch and Clockmakers’ Guild, and is a Fellow of the BHI. This large and varied collection will include an array of clock and watchmaking tools, parts, machines, books and clocks and watches themselves.
The sale will offer valuable pieces for clock and watch makers and restorers, along with sundry items accumulated over 30 years in business.
