HRH The Princess Royal visited Tennants Auctioneers on Wednesday 17th April as part of a day of official engagements in Wensleydale. After visiting Johnston Racing in Middleham, The Princess Royal toured Tennants Auctioneers and The Garden Rooms, Europe’s largest family owned auctioneers and one of the region’s largest purpose built venues for auctions, events, weddings and conferences.
The Princess toured behind the scenes at Tennants and talked to the Specialists involved in curating the 80 sales which take place every year. The Princess also heard about the expansion of the business in 2014 to include purpose-built exhibition and event spaces before meeting staff who had served for more than 10 years with the company.
The Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire Johanna Ropner said “it was a pleasure to welcome The Princess Royal to Wensleydale and combine Her Royal Highness’s charitable work with a visit to Tennants, an important business to the local economy”.
