Leading Scotch Whisky expert Charles MacLean will be coming to Tennants on 14th September to give a talk and lead a tasting.
The talk coincides with Tennants Auctioneers’ Whisky and Wine Sale on 17th September, which will include the sale of three privately owned casks from a Yorkshire businessman. Bought by the vendor a little over 25 years ago, the casks have been sitting in bond at Deanston Distillery in Perthshire ageing with distinction over the years.
Charles MacLean is Scotland’s leading whisky expert, with a deep passion for his subject. He has written numerous acclaimed books on Scotch whisky and acts as a consultant to the whisky industry. Charles was elected Master of the Quaich in 2009, the industry’s highest accolade.
In his talk, Charlie will talk about the history of Scotch whisky, with special reference to the renaissance of single malts in recent years. The talk will be followed by a guided tasting of four single malt whiskies from across Scotland, led by Ben Bowers from The Spirit Specialist.
