Tennants Appoints New Head of Jewellery

 Tennants Fine Art Auctioneers has appointed Jacqueline Adams as Head of Jewellery.  Jacqueline and her team will provide professional valuations for probate, insurance and family division and to catalogue items of jewellery for auction.

Jacqueline will be heading up the Jewellery Department which carefully curates an array of antique, period and modern jewellery across six dedicated Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sales each year as well as featuring in the popular fortnightly Antiques and Interiors Sales. 

Jacqueline is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and brings to Tennants over 25 years’ experience of working with jewellery.  She started her career as a Jewellery Specialist in London at Sotheby’s, and was part of the team that worked on the auction of jewels belonging to the Duchess of Windsor in Geneva. 

Jacqueline went on to become a Senior International Jewellery Valuer for Phillips Auctioneers in London.  She has regularly worked internationally and has worked for a number of other UK auction houses, most recently for Bonhams.

In the course of her career she has been involved in a number of landmark jewellery sales in London including jewels belonging to Elizabeth Taylor, Elton John and Ava Gardner. 

The appointment is a key part of the company’s plans to grow the their business, which remain unchanged despite the current Coronavirus outbreak.  Tennants is however adapting at this difficult time and is currently conducting virtual valuations by Skype, zoom, email etc. Whilst preparing to launch a busy online only auction programme.
