Auctions, Valuations and FAQs

During these times of uncertainty, we have put together some frequently asked questions which we hope you will find helpful.  As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like to discuss any of your questions, thoughts or concerns personally.

Are your offices open?

Our offices are temporarily closed to the public however you can call us on 01969 623780 or email enquiry@tennants-ltd.co.uk between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Are you holding auctions?

Yes. We are delighted to confirm our revised auctions calendar is now shown here.  If you have consigned with us for any of these sales, we will be in touch with a pre-sale advice letter and you can be assured that all consigned items will be safely stored with us in the meantime at no extra cost. 

How can I participate in an auction?

Currently these auctions are online only, with live internet bidding.  You are also able to submit an absentee bid and in some cases, telephone bidding may be available.  Please click on an auction for more details on viewing arrangements. Please note information may be updated/revised on a regular basis.

Am I able to consign an item(s) for a future sale?

Yes. If you would like to consign an item(s) to a future auction, we would be very pleased to offer you an initial valuation via email or video link such as Skype, Team Viewer, Zoom etc.    We are also able to carry out valuations in person at the auction centre in Leyburn, strictly by appointment, in line with government guidelines.  Please contact us for further details.

Are you carrying out professional valuations currently?

Yes. If you require a written valuation for Probate, Insurance or Family Division, please contact jeremy.pattison@tennants-ltd.co.uk

I have bought an item in one of your online auctions, how can I pay?

All payments can be made online or via bank transfer. We are not able to take cash payments at this time.

Am I able to collect?

Collections in person are available by appointment - please call us on 01969 623780. You will be given instructions on how to collect safely, maintaining social distancing. Where a 2-person lift is required, we will not be able to provide assistance, so please ensure that you bring someone with you.

We can post certain items by request.  Alternatively, our preferred carriers can collect and deliver on your behalf:

How are you keeping staff safe?

We are privileged to have a very large building, enabling social distancing. We are following all the Government Health and Safety Guidelines, we have PPE for staff to use and conduct regular cleaning of the building and facilities.
